August 7th


David Buckner
47 years old
Buckner was killed and three other victims were wounded in a shooting in Ada Park on the Far South Side Saturday night. At about 8 p.m., police found him fatally shot in his back in the 11200 block of South Ada Street. He was dead on the scene. Additionally, a 37-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to his leg, a 19-year-old man got a graze wound to his neck and a 22-year-old woman was shot in her thigh. They were taken to local hospitals and were all treated and released. The incident occurred in the park when two groups began shooting at each other.


Marshall Bennett
21 years old
At about 12:47 a.m., Bennett was walking on the street in the 5500 block of South Union Avenue in the South Side Englewood neighborhood when he was shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead at 1:39 a.m. at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital.

August 6th


Cesar Rosales
41 years old

At 5:37 p.m., police responded to a person shot in the 1300 block of North Pulaski Road in the Humboldt Park neighborhood. Two people had been arguing in a parking lot at a car wash at that location about a half hour earlier when one left and returned with a gun. The man that was fatally shot was an employee at the car wash. The victim was shot in the chest and taken to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where he later died.

August 5th


Dionte Young
24 years old
At about 6:40 p.m. on Thursday evening, Young was walking on the 8800 block of South Hermitage Avenue on the South Side, just a few houses down from where he lived, when he was approached from behind by an unknown gunman and shot in the back of the neck. He suffered a gunshot wound to his head and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 9:01 p.m.
